Delivery of core curriculum in a holistic fashion will provide a balance of overall learning in children. Melange societal, communal, and home values with the teaching of the core curriculum will induce the students to Holistic Learning.
If adults find making decision a task, what’s more of a child. With Holistic Teaching, we prepare the child for this process. Decision making has many facets to be considered. Removing luck from the equation, will means the decision made must depend on information received. More crucially, what makes a fine decision is the consideration of humanly, communal and societal factors. A child with a lack of exposure, will lead to an incomplete understanding of the above mentioned, will be unable to make a wise decision.
It’s vital for students to learn proper values. A child whom is well entrenched with values will understand right from wrong explicitly. This will act as the first line of defense when they are faced with a hostile spectrum of concerns, and are required to select a choice.
Inspired by home school’s methodology, we managed to tailor Holistic Teaching whilst delivering the core curriculum. This includes the teaching of communal, societal and humane values continuously during the time the children spends at Building Blocks International. Children are taught to respect each other; to understand moral obligations; to dissect and manage their emotions; to know when to give and when to ask for help; and finally, to reach out and give humanity assistance, ultimately becoming a “World Citizen”.
